This Colt manufactured early variation hammer assembly is for the medium frame Lightning slide action centerfire rifle and is in very good condition exhibiting a brownish gray patina with light wear. This hammer assembly consists of the hammer, hammer roll, hammer roll pin and the hammer catch pin. Early variation hammer assemblies do NOT have the small straight slot screw located in the top radius forward of the spur section and do NOT have the fly that are located on the late variation hammers.  (file photo)
